Recipe: Apple Crumble

Cook up an Apple Crumble!
With cold winter nights inching ever closer, it’s time to snuggle up with home-cooked comfort food. Why not try making this delicious apple crumble – we’ve got all the ingredients in the Farm Shop!


4-5 apples
250g caster sugar
150g plain flour
75g soft butter
1 tsp ground cinnamon


Preheat your oven to 180C/350F/gas 4.

Peel, core and dice the apples and add to a saucepan with 180g of the sugar and the cinnamon. Allow to stew gently for half an hour, stirring occasionally with a wooden spoon. Once stewed, add to a baking dish.

Mix the flour and the remaining sugar in a mixing bowl. Add the butter and mix everything together until the mixture resembles large breadcrumbs. Pour this evenly over the apple.

Place the crumble in the preheated oven and bake for 30 minutes until golden brown.

Delicious served with custard or Brymor ice cream!
